Problem importing photos from my iphone to mac

When i plug my iphone into my mac iphoto is not popping up right away. Once i open iphoto and plug my iphone in a message pops up telling me my camera roll is locked and i need to enter my passcode to import photos from my iphone to iphoto on my mac? Even after i enter my passcode on my phone my photos will not be imported. please help!

\Version of iPhoto and of the OS? What has changed since it worked correctly?

iPhoto 09 8.1.2 and Mac OS X version 10.6.8

I plugged my iphone into my Mac and it asked a question about trusting this device. I made the mistake of clicking dont trust. Hope this helps! Thanks for the help.
