What is MacMin (plugin) 3.5 by Sol on MacBook Air?
The MacMin 3.5, recently popped up and I've been getting a lot of pop up ads. I have no idea if this it good or bad.
MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), iOS 8.3

If it's adware, running AdwareMedic should find it: http://adwaremedic.com/index.php.
Where do you see MacMin? Is this in the Extensions pane of Safari's preferences window?
No it's an app on my launchpad page and I can't trash it.
This looks like a new variant of the Vidx, aka MacVX, adware. I found a source for it and have examined it. To remove it, see my Adware Removal Guide.
I have added instructions for this variant to the manual removal instructions. If you choose to use AdwareMedic instead of manual removal, be aware that it will not currently remove the MacMin app, but already detects the other components of this adware. You can delete the MacMin app manually, however. Choose Applications from the Go menu in the Finder. In the window that opens, find the MacMin app and drag it to the trash.
(Fair disclosure: I may receive compensation from links to my sites, TheSafeMac.com and AdwareMedic.com.)
I have now added detection of the MacMin app to AdwareMedic's signatures.
Hi Thomas,
I have used the AdwareMedic and it did find some adware I could trash, but the macmin that is in my launchpad page (and it does not appears in my applications) it is still there and I can not trash it. Do you know what to do???
Thank you!
Ana
There may be a MacMin app located in a different place than where it used to be. In the Finder, choose Home from the Go menu. In the folder that opens, do you see an Applications folder? If so, look for a MacMin app there. If you see it, move it to the trash. If you don't see it there, let me know.
Hi Thomas!
I did not find the macmin app located in the applications folder. It is there on my launchpad and it is not allowing it to trash it. I do not know what else can I do to delete it....
I would be grateful if you can help me again ...
Thanks
Ana

Just to clarify, did you look in the Applications folder found in your user folder, as my last message instructed, or were you still looking in the main Applications folder?
Hey Thomas,
Thank you for the clarification you were right, I went straight to the main applications folder and no the user one as you instructed... I did now what you mentioned before and it was there! Thank you so much for the help!
