How do I compare two columns of dates in Numbers - I would like to highlight if one date is earlier than other

I have to a spreadsheet - containing dates when cards were purchased and activated.

I would like to compare these two columns in order to identify if any card was activated BEFORE it was bought.

The dates/times are in the same format in both columns

Any way that I can get this done?

Hi pjmarch,

Conditional Highlighting will do this.

User uploaded file

Select the body cells in column C (double click on the C label to select them).

Format Panel > Cell > Conditional Highlighting > Add a Rule > Dates > before the date...

User uploaded file

Click on B2 and untick Preserve Row (so that the Rule will apply to all selected rows).

User uploaded file

Click on the default style and choose something more obvious, such as red fill

Edit:

Testing...

Click on C6 to see the comparison is with B6

User uploaded file

Yup! it fills down correctly.

Ian.
