Music resets after closing app

I enjoy listening to my created playlist on my iPhone when I'm out driving or at the gym. Previously when I'd close the app and later reopen it, the playlist would still be on the previous song played. However, since I've updated my phone to IOS 8.3, whenever I close the app and reopen it, the app resets with no previous music played. Anyone else experience this issue since updating their device?
