Why is there no slot provided on the MacBook Air for a lock?

I am happy with the MacBook Air. I often travel to Europe and use library collections there.

I cannot leave my computer unattended at the table: there is a good chance that it will be taken.

Can Mac place (add back) the small slot into the side of their laptop computers so that they can be secured to a table?
