I do not have Grab.app. When I employ: Shift + Command + 3 to make a screen shot I hear a 'Camera Click'
but I can not find the image. What Am I doing wrong?

It should be on your Desktop.
If it isn't there, check your Pictures or Downloads folder.
1st, there are more possibilities than just Shift+Command+3: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361
2nd, the Grab app is in your Utilities folder.
And, as John has stated, the default location should be your Desktop. If you're using Dropbox, the default location may be your Dropbox folder. However, that can be changed in Dropbox's preferences.
