Can not sync iPhone6

I recently purchased an iPhone 6. Data was transferred from my iPhone 5s at the phone store. Now I am attempting to sync this phone to iTunes via my iMac, All I get is a pop-up saying that my phone timed out. HELP!! I want my music!!
