My MacBook Pro will not delete applications

I bought my current MacBook Pro with a lot of software already installed onto it. Since I bought it, I have needed to download and get more applications for College and work. I tried to free up some space on my Macbook by deleting some applications but through the trash (where I have been previously informed to attempt) it has only deleted half of each application and will not delete any more. Somebody help me try to figure this out so that I can start to clean out my MacBook and get rid of unnecessary applications.

Which applications were you trying to remove? I could be wrong but I think I read a while ago you were unable to remove the applications that come preinstalled on your version of OSX etc

I tried to uninstall Xcode (which I think I recall downloading after getting this MacBook) also I tried to uninstall Cleanmymac 2 and Garys Mod

First thing you should do is go to the developers web site and search for un-installation instructions. Occasionally you may have to install the given app and then run the un-installation to do a proper job.

There are applications that all you have to do is drag the icon to trash, but you should know this in advance.
