Gift redeemed but not downloaded

I sent my brother a gift and he redeemed it, and it didn't download properly. Meaning that it was just an icon that said waiting and the gear was spinning around in circles for a long time. So he clicked the "x" to delete it. So I went to try and resend it but I can't do that because he already redeemed it. What do I do?
