upgraded from safari 5.1 to Yosemite and can't find photo's

I just installed Yosemite on my I Mac which ran apple safari 5.1 and cannot find my photo's (iPhoto). How do I recover?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

iPhoto should be in your Applications folder. If not, App Store Purchases tab - check for it there and download iPhoto.

The only version of iPhoto that will work with 10.10.3 is iPhoto 9.6.1. To be able to download it from the App Store you must have a version of iPhoto on your Mac that is 9.x or later. Otherwise you'll need to use the new Photos app that replaces iPhoto.
