DNS error cannot connect to server via mail or safari

Hello,

on my iMac (Yosemite 10.10.2) I can not connect to the Mac Server with it's DNS name (Mail or Safari).

When I move to the Console and use dig, host, nslookup the server adress is correctly resolved.

Now I have set the hostname of the Server and it's IP-Address into my /etc/hosts, now Mail and Safari can connect to the Server.

I have tried to restart my mac, but it doesn’t help.

From other Macs with 10.9 or 10.8 there arent any problems…

The correct DNS-Server is set in my network settings.

Has any one an idea?

Thanks,

Oliver
