itunes not communicating with iphone 5s

My IPhone 5s is not recognizing iTunes on my PC. I have tried several suggestions from resetting sync memory to updating the driver to buying a new cable and even resetting my phone. The firmware is up to date as well as the latest version of iTunes. When I connect the iPhone to the PC, it dings and the phone charges. I sometimes get "Trust this Computer" message and click "trust' but nothing happens. Also, when trying to sync via wi-fi, the phone doesn't recognize the computer, either. Please help.

Hi mrkleroi,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that when you connect your iPhone to your Windows computer, iTunes is not recognizing the device. You have already completed some great troubleshooting, but to continue the process I would suggest reading over and working through the suggested steps in the attached article.
