Teleprompter Help???

I recently purchased "Teleprompter" from the apple app store... and found out that it is no longer supported... I love the program!

my problem is... the program says that a Apple remote will control the scroll speed of the teleprompter... I bought an apple remote...

the remote turns the volume of the computer up and down... so the remote is talking to the computer... however the I can't find a way to allow the teleprompter to see the remote's commands... the remote needs to talk to "Teleprompter" can anyone help me with this ????
