ipod 5th gen won't turn on buttons won't respond

I have a 5th generation ipod touch, I forgot to charge it the other day and tried charging it after I realized it had died. the rest/wake button wouldn't respond and neither would the home button. I tried holding both down for 10+ seconds and my screen was still black with no response from a charging dock or charger

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
