Why will my pc not detect my iphone 4s?

I am sooooooooo FRUSTRATED!!! I finally got iTunes downloaded to my pc and now all of a sudden my pc doesn't detect my iPhone 4s. I plug it into my pc and my phone asks if I want to "Trust" pc or "Don't Trust" pc. I obviously trust my pc so I click trust. When I go into "Computer" from the start menu, it doesn't even appear to detect my iPhone. My iPhone doesn't show up at all. Usually, too, I will have a pop up box on my pc asking if I want to import, view, etc. That doesn't even happen anymore. Not sure what to do. Please help!!!!!! I am at whits end. Lol. Btw.... I have tried several different cords, with the same results. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you in advance!!!
