8.3 can no longer quick reply to texts via home screen

Not sure if it was 8.3 that changed it but I can no longer "quick reply" to texts via the pull down option where you don't have to enter Messages. I can pull down and view the message with the rest of the screen blurred etc, but the keyboard no longer shows up.
