I followed the information on the help menu for Mail .....preferences..accounts.....select my account.....click advanced....select "Send large attachments using Mail Drop"....
The last part on attachments did not appear.....I have the latest OS X Yosemite......What am I doing wrong?

I wonder if you can straighten my confusion once more.......I have had my mac Mail configured to receive e-mail from a Comcast e-mail account.......I suppose I need to use Mail by itself to be able to use the Mail Drop feature......How do I set this up? I do have iCloud, and would very much like to send large files......thanks!

I seem to have something different than what you have..........
Mail Drop is a function of an iCloud account, it is not available with a Comcast account.
Just use your iCloud account instead of your Comcast account, then you can turn mail drop on.
