Cinema display used to show menus of applications

So I have a Cinema display and an iMac connected. Used to be that the display would also show application menus so that I could use the menus on both screens. Now the menus on the Cinema display have disappeared. Window shows but menus are back on the iMac. Big pain. Any help out there??
