iMac won't respond to Bluetooth keyboard

Our late 2009 iMac is not recognizing a known good Bluetooth keyboard. I would like to get into the iMac's library but can't because I don't have an alternative (such as a wired keyboard). The iMac does recognize the wireless mouse. Is there any way to access the library without a working keyboard?
