Is it better to keep my MacBook plugged in into the power source even if it's fully charged?

My MacBook Pro is usually siting on my desk for the majority of the time. Is it better to leave it plugged into the power source if it's fully charged? Or is it better to only plug it in when it needs to be charged? Also, if I use my MacBook while it's charging, will it damage the battery?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

I leave mine connected to AC if it is available. You cannot harm the battery since the OSX monitors that function. Just make t that at least once per month you discharge the battery to about the 40% level to keep the battery 'happy'.
