I changed my apple ID, verfied it, but imessage wont connect on my phone

Hi,

I have an account linked to 2 other family members. Recently I came to believe our apple ID and password were hacked so I went in to change it for the account. I successfully changed the ID and reset the password but now iMessage wont verify on any of our phones.
