Duplicate Songs in iTunes Library.

When I purchase songs from iTunes, I get a download... When I attempt to play the songs from any device, such as, iPhone 6 Plus, my computer, or Apple TV, I get 2 or 3 versions of the same song in my library. Why? Im afraid to delete one, for fear of deleting them all!
