How can I upload older photos without metadata into Photos?

I have older photos that I would like to upload to my Photo's iCloud library but it will pop up with a message saying there is no metadata. How can I upload my older photos?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
