New Photo app in Yosemite 10.10.3 to use folder on Synology NAS

Hi,

I'm new to the macbook pro with Yosemite 10.10.3 and I'm struggling to connect the photo app to the photo folder I've on my NAS.

The nas works fine and is accessible from the mac without any issue. Is visible in finder on the left. iTunes runs fine with music stored on nas.

I tried to link to the folder, can browse to it when in menu to select/create folder in photo app but can't finally select it.

Any clue from an expert out there ?

Many thanks !

Jacques

You can't have a Photos Library on a NAS. It needs to be on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and directly connected to the Mac.
