Airplay on server Mac

Hi

I have just bought an AppleTV (Tue 21st) and can get all working and connected (iphone 4s, Macbook Pro). The WiFi network has always been provided by my Desktop Mac (dual core 2.66GHz - latest software) with internet sharing turned on.

The problem I have is that the Mac desktop won't cooperate with airplay. I have done all (that I can find) in the support pages. In system preferences, the mirroring displays checkbox is checked, but the displays icon is not in the menu bar as per any given instructions in support. The AppleTV does access the iTunes library from this computer.

I can only imagine it must be at the AppleTV end.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Vic Braun
