Can't log into iTunes account (error 0x80090326)

Please Help!

I logged off iTunes on my PC and now can't sign back into my account. I receive the following error "We could not complete your iTunes request. An unknown error occured (error 0x80090326). Because of this, I cannot backup, update or sync anything. For what it's worth my log in on iPhone works fine. I spoke to level 2 at Apple Care for hours and nothing works. I'm at a loss. Any solution would be appreciated

Windows XP

I have tried the following:

installing and reinstalling iTunes

flushing DNS

winsock review and repair

repair of QuickTime and iTunes

ensured iTunes was selected as exception for Windows Firewall

Windows XP patch from 2009 (suggested in previous post)

Also uninstalled anti-virus, turned off firewall. Nothing works

iPod touch, iOS 8.3, null

Same problem here.

I've checked everything with Apple Support, even using a differente internet connection and finally they directed me to Microsoft Support as it seems to be a Windows problem.

I searched with Google and found this:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/948963

An update is available to add support for the TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA AES128-SHA and TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA AES256-SHA AES cipher suites in Windows Server 2003

But the fix is available only for Windows Server 2003, and XP is out of support.

Perhaps Apple has changed the TLS/SSL algorithm for the iTunes Store, and the new one is not available on Windows XP ?

I just started having the same problem too, and I tired most of the same things you mentioned (disabling the anti-virus, firewalls, making sure iTunes was up to date, making sure 'Use SSL 3.0' and 'Use TLS 1.0' were selected in Internet Explorer, etc) but nothing at all has worked yet. I'm still running an old XP machine and I'm really worried because I'm stuck with it for at least a few more months (if it is even a Windows support problem with XP & iTunes...)

This seems to be something that was changed TODAY (21 April 2015) since everyone has started reporting this today.

Apple changed something today (21 April 2015) or last night that broke iTunes on Windows XP machines. And yes, it has to do with secure connections. In my case, I run network connection tests under iTunes Help > Diagnostics and I get:

NETWORK CONNECTIVITY

OK Network interface verified

ITUNES STORE CONNECTIVITY

OK Internet connection verified

XX Secure link to iTunes Store failed

(where OK is the green OK mark and XX is the red failed mark).

Apple needs to fix this since clearly they changed something that broke. Expecting people to get off their XP machines for some clearly trivial change made by Apple is highly unreasonable. Meanwhile, no App updates, no new App store purchases.

Just another data point. I'm running iTunes 11.3.1.2 and the latest version if I Help > Check for Updates is 12.1.2. Can someone who has this problem confirm that it exists with 12.1.2 as well?

Yesterday I got that same results from the tests, but today, while talking with support, all the tests were passed correctly. But the problem is still present.

I'm running 12.1.2
