Bad Shutdown Results in blinking folder with question mark

When I started my Macbook Pro from sleepmode, bought in september 2013, it froze. I turned it off with the powerbutton but when I reboot I get a blinking folder with a question mark on it. I already tried the internet recovery but that didn't work. How can I fix this?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

If it is a retina MBP, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.

If it is a non retina MBP, take out the HDD and install it in an enclosure. Connect it to the MBP via USB. Using Startup Manager, if it boots tha MBP, the SATA cable is probably faulty and needs to be replaced. If it does not boot the MBP, the HDD is faulty.

Ciao.
