Apple TV, Thinking About Buying

We currently have a Macbook that connects to our HDTV with HDMI cable, adapter, and auxiliary audio cable. We watch DVD from Netflix and some Amazon Prime and HBO GO stuff. It's a pain setting everything up. Is it worth buying Apple TV (currently $67 on Amazon)?

The Apple TV has Netflix (streaming, no need for DVD) and HBO GO apps. It doesn't have an Amazon app, but if the MacBook supports AirPlay, you'd be able to use the ATV as a display (with no cable - over the WiFi).

Note that the Mac's DVD player doesn't support AirPlay for regulatory reasons (there was a recent discussion about this if you search the forum) so you would not be able to watch DVDs played via the MacBook on the ATV.
