My Mac is a 2014 model and up to date. Why can't I open it?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Try using disk utilities to repair permissions. See if you can go to Go/ Utilities/ System profiler and open it there.
Thanks for replying, but it didn't work, I couldn't find those settings in my Mac, maybe because this update removed them :/
In yosemite. In the utilities folder it's called system information. An update of yosemite should not delete anything. You may have to go to recovery, Command R and reinstall yosemite. It should not delete any existing files. It's best if you use ethernet to do this.
How do I reinstall yosemite?? Should I wait for an upgrade and hope it fixes my problem??
When starting, using Command/R. You will be taken to a screen with options for disk utilities, apple online support, time machine and reinstall. There is where you can reinstall the latest yosemite. As long as you do not use disk utilities to erase the drive, it will reinstall the operating system and not delete any personal files. I would use ethernet as this is done on line and it's faster this way. You will be asked for your apple id and password.
