Hi, I bought a used I phone from a widow. The problem is that she does not know/ remember her late husbands Id paassword. What can we do to activate the phone with a new user Id?

The only way you are going to be able to do this is to take the phone together with a death certificate for the previous owner to an Apple Store. Only with that evidence will they unlock it.

You can't activate it without knowing the current Apple ID/password.
Without that, it's still nice to look at because that's all that you can do.
Or you can go to an Apple Store with the death certificate like Roger said. 😊
