iphone 4 does not sync to itunes

Recently my iphone 4 will not sync to my itunes on my computer.
My computer sees that a device is plugged in, and my phone give me the "trust this computer" message, but itunes does not show my phone on the screen, and it won't give me the option to sync my phone.
I have hard shutdown my phone, reset my phone completely, updated itunes/checked for updates on my phone (there were none), and changed cords, while restarting my pc. Nothing is working.

Can anything be done about this?
