I'm using an iMac running Yosemite 10.10.2 . Using Safari browser.

The attached pop up has begun to appear as soon as

I boot up and start working. I can not Cancel on Continue...the only way

it deletes is by restarting buy it reappears as soon as I begin working.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I put that web address into a new tab, and there is no such web site anywhere with that name.

By default, Safari loads all previous tabs from the previous session. So it may be it's just trying to load a page that doesn't exist each time you launch Safari. Close Safari. Hold the shift key and relaunch it. That tell Safari not to load any pages from the previous session.

Not sure what you mean by "undeleteable on my desktop". Do you mean you don't even have a web browser open, and this message appears every time you turn your computer on? If so, open the System Preferences and click on the Users & Groups icon. Click on your account and then the Startup Items tab. Is there anything listed you don't recognize? Or, take a screen shot of that list and post it here so others can see what may be the culprit (if any of them).

That is a site owned by Google, and used for serving some of Google's content.

My big question concerns the appearance of that alert... it doesn't look right for any of the three major browsers (Safari, Chrome or Firefox). Where, specifically, do you see this pop-up, and under what circumstances? I'm unclear from your description of whether this is only occurring within a web browser, or when you start up the computer and before you have yet opened a browser.

That's google 173.194.112.223

If you use the ip-adress you can load the side. Over the domain you got an 404 error.

Just to help us get what you see in our minds eye, take a Command + SHIFT + 3 'entire display' screenshot of this error message in every way you experience it...

  • over a browser window? what browser/version?
  • over the Desktop with no browser running?
  • What do you mean by "begin working"?
  • Can you restart normally or do you have tt shows in the Docko Force it?
  • What shows in the Dock when it is present?
  • Activity Monitor - 'Active Processes"?
  • Does this happen in "Safe Boot"?
  • VERIFY 10.10.2 - any reason NOT to update to 10.10.3?

The "Pop Up" points to an invalid certificate - could this not be a Keychain warning informing of an out of date certificate or one that can not be verified. Not sure how to resolve but if you open Keychains and look under the Category section, click on the bottom "Certificates" and see if you can find one with "gstatic" in the description.

If you find one double click to open and just under the icon you should see a "Trust" section, you have the option to "Always Trust" if you are sure of the source. The other option is to request another certificate, but not sure if that happens automatically by deleting the old one or if you have to down load it manually - someone on the forum should have a better idea.
