Compound clip flexibility & overall workflow

Is the compound clip smart and flexible to dynamically adjust for the total length whenever changes are make to the parent of the compound clip?

I'm editing many multicam clips from a period of 3 years. To minimize the 8-camera cut angle, I have to make a compound clip of the edited multicam clip into the final master project. This results in just a single clip in the timeline and offers great flexibility. If I tweak anything in the original multicam clip, the compound clip will update and change itself right? I try not to change the total length as it will affect the timing of the compound clip.
