iPad heating up
SSince I upgraded to iOS 8.3 my iPad A1416 64 GB heats up and, as a consequence, drains the battery very quickly.

As to heating, warm is normal. 'too hot to handle' is a good benchmark for it being an issue.
If your iPad is getting too hot for you to touch or hold then there could be something going on.
If you think there may be an issue, then make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out
