I just upgraded to Motion 5.2 and am having problems with .psd files from a project created in Motion 5.1.2.
When the project opens, the .psd looks faded out.
This is a VERY BIG PROBLEM!!
Any body else having problems with 5.2 and older projects with .psd?

Yes, I noticed this also. I submitted a bug report, but in the meantime I used Time Machine to re-install 5.1.2 and kept both apps. This way I can use 5.1.2 for my older projects until there is a fix.
Yes, I noticed this bug today also.
Quitting motion and restarting seemed to randomly fix the issue, though at times different PSDs in the document would have the brightness glitch and others would be fine.
I finally got fed up and dropped a gamma filter on the washed out image and that at least gave me a quick workaround. Hope they fix this soon!
Has there been any fix for this yet? When can we expect an update as it is very frustrating to keep quitting out of the application (which doesn't always work!) Also I don't find the gamma filter to be a great workaround when you are trying to colour match on a project.
After doing a little more experimenting, I may have found the problem.
The issue seems to be in the color profile. Specifically the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile.
Either disabling it or changing it corrects the problem in Motion.
To disable, save out the file in Photoshop and uncheck the "Embed Color Profile" box in the Photoshop save menu.
To change it in Photoshop, go to Edit --> Convert to Profile and select something like Apple RGB and save it out again.
