AppleTV time out

AppleTV seems to disconnect under certain conditions. Primary use of our AppleTV is for audio through our stereo. Sound disappears after a few minutes when we use Pandora, Songza or Sirius no matter if we are using our iPhones, iPad, laptop or iMac. If we use our iTunes library (regardless of the control device) the AppleTV works fine and does not connect. Have noticed that when a disconnection occurs, the AppleTV is sometimes hidden under the AirPlay menu. Then it shows up. The AppleTV is updated and has been tested both wirelessly and with a direct Ethernet connection.

Wondering if it is time for a new one but was hoping to get more than a year out of it.

Any ideas?
