Is this HDD compatible with my MacBook Pro?

I have bought a new HDD for my MacBook Pro. It is a Seagate 1TB Laptop Thin SSHD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 2.5-inch Internal Bare Drive (ST1000LM014). I had to buy an External HDD enclosure to format the drive in Disk Utility. When I loaded DU I was given the message that my Mac could not read the HDD, however I was still able to erase and format it (Mac OS Extended - Journaled).

I have my Mac backed up via Time Machine onto another External HDD and just want to install this new one. Is it compatible?
