Q: No iPhoto on new hard drive?

I got a new hard drive and now my iPhoto is gone. How can I download either iPhoto or the new Photos app? Neither is in the app store.

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Upgrade the computer to Yosemite if it isn't running that OS already. Mac OS X 10.10.3 includes Photos.

If you previously associated iPhoto with your Apple ID or bought it from the Mac App Store, log in to the Mac App Store with that Apple ID, click on the Purchases tab, and try downloading it.

Either reinstall from the original source or upgrade to OS X 10.10.3 and Photos and let it convert your iphoto library (Photos is a totally new application with some differences from iPhoto and some missing features)
