This is sometimes caused by corruption in the International settings that determine Date&Time formats.
To attempt a fix, open System Preferences > Language&Region
choose an standard date&time format other than your own, (e.g., if American, choose British and vice versa) close the window and save changes.
Open System Preferences > Language&Region again.
choose the standard date&time format you want to keep. Close the window and save changes.
Test.
How are you moving them?
Over the WIFI network, drag and drop.
Well it now looks like it has sorted it's self out, all working fine now.
I know it's been a while since you post, but I am having the same problem now where all my files I moved have a new date of January 2068! Did you do anything to resolve your problem or did you try anything, or did it really just reset back to the correct date on its own? Thanks!
I am having this issue now as well. Files show a creation date of January 19, 2068 when transferring to external hard drive from Mac running Sierra.
