Until recently, a person could click on the FF button to play a video/audio file in double speed and hear the audio. This was especially helpful when watching/listening to lectures. Now when you play in double speed there is no audio. What happened? Is there a glitch in the software? I hope the feature is returned to its former design.

Latest version of QT X only supports audio at speeds between 1.1 and 1.9 in forward and reverse playback. Have you updated your system to Yosemite?

Set playback speed to 1.9x and use gestures to scrub or use QT 7 player with keyboard shortcuts for 2x or 3x playback with audio.

Use the "Option-FF/RW Mouse Click" or "Option-L/J" shortcuts to change playback speed in ±0.1x monotonic increments.
