Wireless Apple Mouse

Apple Wireless Mouse, Model A1015, shows it's connected but cursor doesn't move. I've changed batteries. Both sets are rechargeable and battery levels are 51% to 54%. A lever inside the mouse can be set for either "plus" or "minus". I don't know what this is for but I've tried the mouse with each setting with no change - cursor still doesn't move. I've wiped the mouse pad and the underside of the mouse with a dry cloth.

Any advice to solve this problem will be appreciated!
