Does anyone know what the expected lifetime of the battery in the ipod classic?
Out of the box, fully charge how long is it expected to play for? lastly,
is there any info on how long the battery will last using the iPod a few hours a day?
I stopped at the local apple store and was told that if the battery has to be replaced, what I get
is a swap of a re-firb'ed unit -- Has any had this done?

Considering that an iPod Classic is worth around $700, I had my battery replaced at a cell phone repair shop for about $25. I bought the battery on eBay.
