Is there a way to have my iBooks sorted by their purchase date? Or is that option not available for some reason?
I have the books in my desired order in the Books collection, but what order are the books in in the All Books collection, and can this be changed?
Also, would any potential solutions work for the OS X app as well?

For iBooks for Mac, you can change the view to List and then you can organize by the Date Added as well as an option for Date Modified. For iBooks on your iPhone, you can organize by recent which would be similar to Date Modified. For more information, take a look at the links below to shed some light on this.
