Since downloading the latest 10.10.3 upgrade, iPhotos has gone and we now have the iPad version. Photos will not recognise my Canon, whereas it did before. I says the software is no longer supported - is this true?

Have you tried opening Photos going into preferences and unticking the box "copy items to the photo library" this will then allow you to copy your pics say to the desktop! and then place them into the photo library from there.

Thanks Trev but no luck. The message was the same "This operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9937.)" Before downloading 10.10.3 it was fine!

Probably another silly question does your camera have a removable sd card and if so have you tried putting it straight into your Mac sdxc slot?

iPhoto is still in your Applications Folder.
Your problem is with Image Capture, not iPhoto or Photos.
Use a card reader, copy the images to a folder on the desktop, then reformat the card with your camera.

Thanks Terence. Yes, I suppose I could do that but it's another step and its backwards. It used to be so easy, now there's a lot of mucking about and the folks at Apple have made it more difficult to use someone else's product - again.
Took your advice and downloaded latest Canon driver. I still can't use iPhoto but at least I can download them from the camera - thanks Trev
