Q: Is there any way to get IPhoto back?

Is there any way to uninstall Photos and get back IPhoto? I know apple usually is pretty anal about changing stuff but I really am not a huge fan of this new interface. It is sort of annoying how apple has to make the background of EVERYTHING white... it gets more pretentious with each dumb update. Sorry, just a little peeved atm about the constant program changes. Any help or suggestions would be awesome.

iPhoto is still in your Applications folder. Nothing happened to it and you can still use it IF you have version 9.6.1. Nothing's happened to your iPhoto Library either. My suggestion: quit complaining because it isn't going to change just for you.

Yeah, it's there, but it doesn't open because it says it's not supported.

Most other photo applications default to black.  Try Lyn, you can have any background color you want.  Will display keywords under thumbnails also.

Apple doesn't support iPhoto anymore, that’s why it’s grayed out.

You can still open up iPhoto - warning: any changes you make in iPhoto, will not transfer over to the new Photos app.

    To open iPhoto:

Right click on the greyed out iPhoto icon - Show Package - Contents folder - Mac OS folder — click on black iPhoto Terminal icon.

Terminal opens up with multiple windows and then iPhoto will open up.

Apple wants you to use the new Photos app, that’s why it’s in your doc.

If you want to use iPhoto on a regular basis make an alias of the  iPhoto Terminal icon and drag it to the desktop.
