How to remove a device from the bluetooth list on Macbook Air?

When I go to Bluetooth Preferences, it only shows the two active bluetooth devices that I have paired and use but when I click the bluetooth button at the top menu of my computer, three devices show up. One is the name of my phone from before I reset it. I do not have the option to remove it from the list in preferences because it is not there and I do not know how to remove it from the drop down list at the top of the computer. Any ideas?
