Q: ipad disconnects from laptop via usb

i plug my iPad into the usb to do a sync, and it disconnects and reconnects instantly.

Simple sync is all i want to do.

Please provide more details on the computer and software you are using to sync the iPad.

hey allan, ok I'm on a retina display mac book pro latest version its about 3 months old.

its an iPad 2, it has always worked, when i connect to the wall the iPad charges normal.
when i sync my iPhone 5s the usb works perfectly.
when i do the same with the iPad i open i tunes and it just repeatedly turns off and on instantly.
I tried another cable usb same problem.
