What do you mean by static boxes?

Can you post a screen cap? Hold down the power and home button simultanously, up and down like you would a camera shutter. You'll see a white flash and a picture of the screen will show up in your photos app.

You can mail it to yourself and then post it here.

Maybe they are an Accessibility feature. See:

They are not an accessibility feature. Their static boxes ! They just press on random things and don't let me press on anything where it is. It gets brighter and i have to kinda bend my iPod to make it go away. Sometimes it does, and other times it doesn't.

I suspect a hardware problem but try the following to rule out a software problem

    Try:

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Reset all settings if you can

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    - Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
