I recently purchased a Mac boo air 13" 8 months ago. Typically the battery would last for 12 hours, and can go days without needing a charge. In the last few days my computer has been going from 100% Charge to 30% in less than 2 hours. There are no programs running that are using significant energy. Any one have similar problems?

Problem description:
My Battery normally lasts for 12 hours when it is off the charger. Lately, it has been going from a 100% full charge to 30% in under two hours. At 100% full charge, the power usage app will tell me I have 12 hours of battery life left. Now at 100% it is saying 5 hours of battery time left. My laptop is a Macbook air 13” and it was purchased 8 months ago.
