If you're going to keep the computer, you can just make a new administrator account in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences; doing this isn't sufficient when preparing to sell or give it away.

You can't give it away with an OS tied to your Apple Id still on it. It is illegal to do so. Since Yosemite requires your Apple ID to download and instal, the new owner would forever require your Apple ID to update it in the future.

You need to restore the computer, to whatever Os it had when it originally shipped and leave it at the setup screen for the new owner to setup.
